The History of Wine – A Journey Through Taste and Time
On 1st May 2025, we proudly hosted a one-of-a-kind wine tasting event in collaboration with
Visit Haarlemmermeer, as part of their Spring Campaign.
Held in our cozy
Green Room, this exclusive evening brought locals and hotel guests together to sip, savor, and explore the fascinating world of wine.
The tasting was hosted in Dutch by
Guy van Hoek, wine expert and owner of
Wijnhuys Kinesis in Delft.
Together, we traveled through centuries of winemaking and across borders with a curated selection of
six exceptional wines from Georgia, Ukraine, Cyprus, Greece, Italy and a classic finale from Bordeaux, France.
Each pour was paired with a delicious bite – from goat cheese and Old Amsterdam to salmon toast and spicy chorizo – creating the perfect harmony of flavor and history. We were thrilled to see such a warm mix of locals and travelers enjoying an unforgettable evening of storytelling, culture, and connection. That’s what we love most at The Florian – creating moments that bring people together.
